Prof. Dr. Toyotaro Suzumura is a research scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in New York as well as a visiting professor at Barcelona Supercomputing Center. His current research interest is large-scale graph processing on supercomputers and the acceleration of deep learning frameworks. One of his recent notable achievements is that he and his team won the first place at the world competition of “Big Data” processing on supercomputers called “Graph500” four times in 2014/6, 2015/6, 2015/11, and 2016/6 by proposing a novel and highly scalable graph search algorithm on massively parallel and distributed computers and successfully implementing it on the Japanese K supercomputer. He has also led a project “ScaleGraph” of developing an open source library for billion-scale graph analytics.
